hm, this answer underestimates the consequences a little bit, because it
ignores hints to programming errors. But I understand: Nobody cares.

May be, but it swamps the screen and this warnings were only the most
flooding examples; there are more hidden in-between.

I have once written a patch for the last original seq24 version to get
it running on a Fedora 9. I will dig for it, try if it still matches to
your version and send it to this list. So this will result in a minimum
effort for you.
