Hi, I'm a french, 26 years old man. I'm a beginner in computer assisted music. I used linux for a long time so I don't have any experience with software like Cubase or FL Studio. I'm not a real musician too (I gave up piano for many years) but trying to create music that others and I would appreciate is a plaisant hobbie. So to continue to speak about me, the first software I used was hydrogen, I recently used lmms which is interesting, I also used software like shaketracker and I like to play with terminatorX. More recently I've started to use three apps at time using jack : seq24,zynaddsubfx and specimen. I must say that seq24 (why 24 ?) is very easy to use and seems stable enough for a 0 version... Zynaddsubfx, if you don't know, is a very complete zynthetiser which produce some very clean and beautiful sounds. I use specimen in order to add samples to the synth part. So I would tell you some remarks about seq24 (most are feature request) : - Even if I guess it is difficulte to do it another way, I think seq24 is very agressive for eyes :) Note's representations are very thin and black on white is a high contrast, why not have custom colors (for notes and background) ? - Some "fill 1/4", "fill 1/2" features should be usefull. - In the song editor, the possibility to set fade-in and fade-out on each part would be great. As this exists in ardour. That'all. Regards, Stef |
