[seq24-users] I can't understand

I recently upgraded to seq24 0.8.6 and cannot understand how to work it 
efficiently.

Firstly, to use it at all, I am forced to use the _command line_ option 
--alsa_manual_ports.
This is the only way I am able to connect seq24 to any software 
synthesizers. Compared to older versions, this process is now much 
clumsier: I have to select MIDI bus in seq24, then open a connections 
manager (in this case qjackctl) and connect the seq24 MIDI bus to the 
software synthesizer.

How can I make this work more efficiently?

Also, options regarding JACK transport still require a restart, this 
makes me sad :(
