I'm pretty sure that gtkmm-2.4 is a different beast than gtkmm-2.0 and
gtkmm-2.2.  What distro are you using?  Gtkmm is set up in such a way you
can have 1.2, 2.0, and 2.4 installed in parallel.  You should be able to
find 2.2 without any problems on any distro.
