If I have been running into a strange clipBoard error. I have attached a PDF. This error happens whenever I happen to copy something in Flash and the toggle over to sepy. I am not trying to paste it anywhere I am just toggling. I haven't seen this bug listed... But I might have missed it. The next one is that if I collapse sections in my code and then hit save they automatically expand. This is weird, cause I often save in process, the expand throws me for a loop. Right clicking on a file and opening with Sepy opens Sepy and displays the file. If Sepy is open the files do not open. Dragging and dropping on the application icon does not work either. grateful regards, Andrew |

Thank you, Loren. Yeah, I totally misunderstood that. I was hoping that for those times that I am not wanting to toggle between flash and Sepy that I could just check my code there. The more I have looked the more I have realized that this is the MO right now. I am writing Class files as well as basic AS2 files. Basic AS2 files are the main method that we build right no, and as you know the Flash environment is not the most suitable for this. I was hoping that I could build all my AS2 in Sepy and check it before I ran a compile on it. So, if this is a possible feature in the future that would be highly requested from MPOV. Anyway thank you for your insight and input. I am loving this program. It makes writing external AS files much simpler as well as more organized. j On 7/8/05 11:20 PM, "Loren Greenfield" <se...@in...> wrote: > The first of your files is a class, the second is not, if you were to > put "var myTest:test = new test();" within a class method, mtasc should > valiadate it. > > eg. > > class MyOtherTestClass(){ > function MyOtherTestClass(){ > var myTest:test = new test(); > } > > } > > > > If you are using "var myTest:test = new test();" as an entry point > (something to kick start the program), there is not reason to validate > this in SEPY, just do it in Flash. Yeah, I have experienced it also. If you just target that folder /opt/mtasc/mtasc then you will be able to use MTASC. Slightly OTS: Does anyone know of a way to run JavaDoc on MacOSX 10.3.9? You can contact me off the list. j On 7/10/05 7:11 AM, "Andrew Eatherington" <an...@ea...> wrote: > I don't know whether anyone else has encountered this. I don't know whether anyone else has encountered this. It is regarding MTASC which can be optionally set up in Sepy in preferences. It installed on my machine in an invisible folder named 'opt' in the root of my hard drive. If you do a search for MTASC folder then drag that folder out you will then be able to configure the path in Sepy. All the best, Andrew |

The first of your files is a class, the second is not, if you were to put "var myTest:test = new test();" within a class method, mtasc should valiadate it. eg. class MyOtherTestClass(){ function MyOtherTestClass(){ var myTest:test = new test(); } } If you are using "var myTest:test = new test();" as an entry point (something to kick start the program), there is not reason to validate this in SEPY, just do it in Flash. If you are trying to compile with mtasc and not use Flash at all , I believe you have to enable entry point usage with mtasc, there is a good GUI that makes it easy. I've not really bothered with this though since most people using AS 2.0 also have the Flash authoring enviroment. To re-cap: 1. mtasc is telling you that the keyword var is unexpected because it doesn't exist within a class. 2. Use mtasc to valiadate your classes 3. Use flash to validate non-class code Hope this answers your query. So, if we forget the class obj. I am having problems with simple vars.. var randLoad : Number = 2; var heroTemp : Number = 5; I get the same error. j On 7/8/05 11:56 AM, "alessandro crugnola" <wis...@se...> wrote: > Jay Myers wrote: > >> No, it is an AS file it is using a PreloadClass within that AS file. >> >> I can get it to compile in Flash with no errors... >> >> j >> >> > MTASC compile only AS2 files > > > ------------------------------------------------------- > This SF.Net email is sponsored by the 'Do More With Dual!' webinar happening > July 14 at 8am PDT/11am EDT.
