[Apologies for cross-posting] Hello everyone, The Fall 2025 MediaWiki Users & Developers Conference will be held on October 28-30th, and hosted by the TIB Leibniz Centre in Hanover, Germany. Talks can be given remotely, although priority will be given to in-person attendees if there's an overflow. Dear List, I recently realized that the two extensions Arrays[1] and Variables [2] will no longer be supported as of Mediawiki version 1.43 and are classified as deprecated. Would will happen with to the parserfunction #arraymap of PageForms[3]. Is this also deprecated with MW 1.43? I use these extensions in my SMW and wonder what the alternatives will be. Have there already been any thoughts on this? hello, I would like to announce this extension https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:VisualData It is an alternative way to create and query datasets on your wiki and has the following features: -- is based on json-schemas (the industry standard for description of data) -- schemas can be created through a user-friendly interface and are used for validation of forms -- can automatically generate complex forms out of json schemas and includes a lot of fancy inputs, including MapTiler (for rendering maps) and TinyMCE -- inputs with auto-completion based on VisualData queries -- queries are performed using a SMW-like language through a parser function, or through an API -- offers several printout formats including datatables, datatables automatically use Ajax and the filter is case-insensitive (a limitation affecting SMW) -- can easily generate info-boxes with one-to-many relationships -- supports MW 1.35.3-1.42 The link above includes the official documentation and here https://wikisphere.org/wiki/Demo_VisualData you can find a lot of demos (which are currently used also as tests when releasing a new version) The extension is currently enough stable and full-featured and has been tested in production projects. Hello Michael, We ran the update script yesterday. It had to be completed via our deployment.yaml file, but upon viewing our logs it seems to have been successful. I inquired to our “hoster” about if we’re using CGI vs CLI, I read that could be an issue. Still waiting on a response. Other attempts including re-running the update script after commenting/uncommenting out various calls to the extension in the LocalSettings.php, which resulted in no change either. I also tried to run the update script via the webserver, which resulted in an error and could not be completed. However upon viewing our logs, this error is mentioned and resolved during the update from the deployment.yaml. I appreciate your help and any assistance you can provide. Hello, I just implemented an extension onto our mediawiki. I updated a deprecated call to wfMemckey() in an extension I am bringing in to the project. After completing this update the wiki now has the following error in staging: Semantic MediaWiki<https://www.semantic-mediawiki.org/> was installed and enabled but is missing an appropriate upgrade key<https://www.semantic-mediawiki.org/wiki/Help:Upgrade_key>. The localisation cache had been updated.
I don't know whether it is an error in Cargo, initialising
internationalisation in a wrong hook, or in SMW importing doctionaries
and issueing messages without properly initialised language.
The MediaWiki itself works.
