I tried to install SemanticScuttle in Ubuntu (12.04 and 12.1) and ran into a known bug opened in Debian. Please see the links below for details (basically it looks like the packaging is broken)
I understand I hope the Debian / Ubuntu folks can fix it. In the meantime I guess folks can download the semanticscuttle of sourceforge and manually install / configure it..

I didn't even know that SemanticScuttle had been packaged on Debian, and I don't have the time to help with that.
