[Sdcc-user] BSEG in map file: Bits or Bytes?

Hi all,

Here it is a chunk of a map file generated by sdcc:

BSEG               0000   000B =3D     11. bytes (REL,CON,BIT)

I know it says "bytes", but it sounds like a lot of bit
variables (8*11=3D88), especially when I had not declare any.
Could it be that it means bits instead?  I am asking because
if it is bits (that is, two bytes), when linking I could set
"--data-loc 0x22" and have 14 more bytes available in DSEG.
