Feature Requests item #1899189, was opened at 2008-02-21 23:40 Message generated for change (Tracker Item Submitted) made by Item Submitter You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=350599&aid=1899189&group_id=599 Please note that this message will contain a full copy of the comment thread, including the initial issue submission, for this request, not just the latest update. Category: None Group: None Status: Open Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Philipp Krause (spth) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Even faster 8-bit multiplication on Z80 Initial Comment: Multiplication speed (of uint8_t) could be improved by directly generating code for the multiplication instead of calling a support function. When using the fast multiplication code from #1896290, this should even result in code size reduction: The multiplication code itself should be one byte less than the code for calling the support function. I make this a separate feature request since #1896290 is easier to implement and less likely to break anything (I want to implement #1896290 for 2.8.0. This feature request is for post-2.8.0 sdcc).
