The project and workspace files were generated with MSVC 6.0, for example 
the 'src.dsp' header says:

# Microsoft Developer Studio Project File - Name="src" - Package Owner=<4>
# Microsoft Developer Studio Generated Build File, Format Version 6.00
# ** DO NOT EDIT **

maybe the files are not compatible with MSVC 5.0.
