As per https://bugs.gentoo.org/645968 SDCC installs an info page /usr/share/info/bfd.info.bz2 which collides with the bfd info page supplied by binutils. According to Gentoo developers "sdcc has no reason to install this info page" and therefore this is bad behavior! I was instructed to come and file the bug here upstream. I am attempting to install the Gentoo ebuild of sdcc version =dev-embedded/sdcc-9999 which means "latest source straight from the repository".

Thanks for a speedy resolution!
PS. I am based in Shenzhen where components are cheap. If you guys need any favours let me know.
First, we need to decide if SDCC should install such documentation. SDCC includes a fork of GNU binutils, and the documentation is from there. However, if we want to keep the documentation, we should probably rename it to resolve the conflict with upstream binutils.

P.S.: I'll put this on the list for isseus to resolve before the 3.7.0 release.
