Sorry, mistake here, should be :
"Hello I'm just here for notice here new bug on this game"
The only bug is there is no music, it's just I'm afraid to be not understantable.
Cheers.
I can't reproduce the problem on my Linux box. Which music driver are you using? (The "Preferred Device" or "Music Device" setting, depending on if it's the Options or Edit Game dialog.)
I can't reproduce this either under Windows. Tried Adlib, MT-32 and GM, and had no problems with music
On MacOS X, I can reproduce it if I select "No music" (obviously) or "SEQ" as music driver (with French mac version of game). It obviously also happens if I set the Music volume at 0, whatever the music driver.

I've take some screenshot.
Very strange I seen nothing weird in my pref (just default choice), and i just try the french version of sam and max : no music too (!?).
So fortunatly it's only for svn, no prob with the official port.
Sorry if I make you loose your time, I was thinking that could help you lol. Nice to see i'm the only one with that problem.
Good luck & cheers.
Harry.

I can reproduce it here. What I see is that it tries to select MIDI when default driver is set.
Max, do we really MDT_PREFER_GM over Adlib there? To me it looks like all games try to fallback to MIDI these days which is IMHO nonsense.
Release critical.
I've disabled MDT_PREFER_GM on the branch this weekend, by the way (r52774). So the branch will possibly behave differently than trunk.
Yes, that fixed it. I lowering priority. It is not release critical anymore.
This has been fixed a couple of times since that report was made. MIDI devices won't get autodetected anymore, unless such a device is expressly specified (default setting is: "Don't use MT-32/GM music"), We have also recently (after 1.3.0 release) improved the fallback mechanism so that you should always get some kind of music (and you should also get a warning popup so that you know that there is an issue with the setting.
I close this as out of date.
