Situation: Enter a room or trigger event with specific music
Bug: Ambient music does not stop or fade out, room/event specific music plays over it
Present in many rooms throughout the museum, like the Egyptian exhibit, Carrington's office or any corpse discovery event
Attached a savegame. Can't save in rooms ahead so from save point enter door on right, then enter upper door to Carrington's office to discover a corpse. This case illustrates both the event and room specific music. Haven't checked the Floppy version (currently unable to proceed to to bug 3041232) but I'd wager it is also affected.
Savegame
This sort of problem is pretty persistent throughout the SCI 1.1 games. There are similar issues in Quest for Glory 3, King's Quest 5 CD, and Freddy Pharkas with music not stopping/looping correctly or being out of tune.
Which music driver are you using? Adlib, MT-32 or GM?
Just tested with:
Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth
Adlib Emulator (both)
IBM PCJr
Creative Music System
They all produce the problem
