PC CD version from lucassarts archives CD collection pack vol I

When laverne is rescued from the tree by chopping it down in the past, an error occurs. As they fall, the sprite of the glow in the time toilet thing is infront of the closeddoor sprite rather than behind it

Either I'm looking at the wrong thing, or I can't reproduce this. In fact, I don't see any glowing at all from Laverne's Chron-O-John. (Which makes sense -- there's nothing in it.) Do you have a screenshot of the glitch?

I'm playing the English "talkie" version of the game.

I believe at the time I had placed the can opener in the chon-o-john before getting george washington to chop the tree down. I placed it there as at the time I did not realise that Laverne was going to be captured

When the tree is chopped down and dissapears in Laverne's time, the chron-o-john's door was closed as it fell. When it hit the ground the door burst opened. The glow from the chron-o-john was infront of the door whilst it opened. Once fully open the sprites no longer occupied the same region.

To my knowledge this is the only instance when the chron-o-john's door opens and there can be something in the chron-o-john.

My disc is also the English talkie version.

I do not have a screenshot as I saved over the savegame several times, so I couldn't go back to get a screenshot.

Does this also happen with the original interpreter? I.e. is it a ScummVM bug, or a bug with the game itself?

Screenshot made with SVN snapshot of DOSbox

Ah, I had forgotten that if you put something in the Chron-O-John, they all start to glow. (It's been a while since I played the game.) I can reproduce the glitch then, and it also happens with the original interpreter, when I run it in DOSbox. See the attached screenshot.

That should be "CVS snapshot of DOSbox", of course. DOSbox doesn't use SVN. :-)

So this is not a bug in ScummVM but rather one in the game data. We can either close this report as "won't fix" then, or try to find a workaround for this bug in the data file.

Maybe we should create a page on our wiki with all known game data bugs, and a list of those we workaround...
