Hello, Am 09.03.2024 um 16:46 schrieb Hein-Pieter van Braam via Scst-devel <scs...@li...>: > I've been interested in running SCST as a PSCSI target. After a lot of reading it seems that right now it is no longer possible to do so. I happen to have several AIC7980 based controllers that I'd like to use for this purpose. I'm in a similar boat. While I can't help you with porting, I also want to enable to establish a "storage server" of sorts for parallel SCSI, but for enabling older IBM AS/400 to have storage again. The challenges are unusual sector sizes (520 or 522 bytes), and additional vendor specific SCSI commands SKIP_READ and SKIP_WRITE. I have not yet started to dig into this particular rabbit hole, yet. So you're not alone with an interest in pSCSI in SCST. Just wanted to make my "voice heard". As far as I remember the comments from my question many moons ago, current state of affairs is parallel SCSI support is gone due to lack of a driver maintainer. An older SCST version is needed. I have on my ToDo-List to install a Debian Linux with an appropriate Kernel do use the latest version with pSCSI support. Second, I have a dim memory to have read that only a certain LSI chips support switching to target mode. Not sure if the Adaptec chips a) support this and b) if they do, if it's known *how* to do it. :-) > Also, yes, I'm aware it is 2024. I have reasons ;) possibly poor ones. But here we are. No need to justify your reasons! :-) :wq! PoC |
