This has been sorted out in CVS now, uploading begins as soon as the menu item is selected + uses a HIGigied dialog that auto closes when it is done. As for the shortcut I'm not sure what shortcut to use. I have it setup to use ctrl+u for myself. (by enabling editable menu accelerators in the gnome menu/toolbar preferences) The problem with using this as default is that it is the shortcut for Duplicate according to the gnome HIG.
