After calling Clear() on a previously populated
PlotSurface2D instance, moving the mouse over it
generates an ArgumentNullException.

actually scrap that - few more issues to sort out - thought
it was a quicky. Left open for now. Hopefully replacing
plotsurface2d entirely.
