Q: What does the version number mean?
A: ##.##.##.## or PP.SS.TT.QQ
Number | Meaning |
---|---|
Primary Number (PP) | Major Release. |
Secondary Number (SS) | Normal Release. |
Tertiary Number (TT) | Design Release. |
Quaternary Number (QQ) | Other Release. |
Real meaning, TT and QQ are used either for simple text or formula errors that are found just after a SS release. But normally I uses them when Excel crashes, and I have to restore from a recovered version. I also uses them when I have to do a rebuild because of the "Too Many Styles" error.
