#640 Vertical display

Is it possible to add a new feature, display content vertically, into next release? I haven't found any text editor that can support such function. This will enable Chinese and Japanese users to type their text in a conventional way. Preferrably we can print in vertical lines as well. Many thanks in advance.

This would be a major project - probably 2 months of work and would also add to the burden of maintenance. The effort to add a new feature falls on those that benefit from that feature. I will not be working on this.

yes, its time to support International languages, also scintilla most be BIDIRECTION DISPLAY to support Arabic and Hebrew.

Scintilla 2017, still support only LTR language!.

Now, i dont know if scintilla support RTL, but wxStyledTextCtrl (based on scintilla) support RTL + Bidirectional, on Windows and Linux (GTK), but not on macOS.

This feature request is different to bidirectional text.

There is limited experimental support for bidirectional text in Scintilla 4.1.0.
