#1184 Scite: Allow for "close tab" button.

A tab in Scite can be closed by doing a middle click with the mouse. Depending on the mouse model, this is sometimes inconvenient to do. I suggest a property which, when enabled, displays a small close button on each tab. Clicking on it would close the tab.

Close boxes on tabs take up room, decreasing the possible number of tabs, and add clutter.

If someone wants to implement optional (default off) close boxes then that would be accepted. There are some choices here about whether the close boxes are only visible or only light up when the mose is over them and whether they appear on all tabs (Chrome) or only the current tab (Firefox).

I realise this topic is old but ...

May I ask the status of this one. I would like and always on "x" to close each tab and that function would be so useful to me that I wouldn't consider it a wast of space at all.

The current status is that the feature needs an implementer. I personally like the current behaviour so won't be working on adding close boxes.
