I am not able to reproduce the bug on Fedora 30 (XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland) running kitty 0.14.6 against Geany 1.35 as distributed by Fedora. SciTE also copies and pastes to and from kitty.
Can you provide a more detailed list of steps for showing the problem?

I did not check #2175 in the first place due to #2127 being open still, thanks for your clarifications.

Which version of Scintilla are you using? The fix to [#2175] which overlaps this issue is present in 4.4.0.
