Category: IMEngine: Generic Table Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Changwoo Ryu (cwryu) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Korean implementation is not correct Initial Comment: The Korean implementation in the table module does not work correctly. For example, "rksk" should be "가나", but this implementation inputs "간ㅏ". This implementation must be written without knowing how the Hangul keyboard works. People get confused by this buggy Korean implementation. I know there is scim-hangul and it works well. But new users won't notice that. If there's no plan to fix this, how about just removing it from the table backend? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Rolf (leggewie) Date: 2012-06-02 23:17 Message: scim-hangul has been removed from Debian as being dead upstream. I can't even find the home page. http://bugs.debian.org/659312 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Changwoo Ryu (cwryu) Date: 2012-05-16 13:02 Message: Again, I proposed to remove it, rather than fix. it. It is broken and no one with knowledge intends to fix and maintain it. And there is an working alternative (scim-hangul). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Changwoo Ryu (cwryu) Date: 2012-05-16 12:59 Message: I can easily reproduce it. It doesn't work, has never worked, and should not work with that table. You are definitely using different Hangul input backend. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ronald Stroethoff (stroethoff) Date: 2012-05-16 12:34 Message: I was looking to: http://scim.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/scim/scim-tables/trunk/tables/ko/Hangul.txt.in?view=log It seems for me that I can insert the text here. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Changwoo Ryu (cwryu) Date: 2012-05-15 21:09 Message: You probably used scim-hangul not scim-tables. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Ronald Stroethoff (stroethoff) Date: 2012-05-15 13:07 Message: If I insert "rksk" and "가나" in the Korean table, is the problem then over? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Changwoo Ryu (cwryu) Date: 2012-05-13 23:07 Message: Yes. Note that it's a bug in scim-tables, which has not been updated for years. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Rolf (leggewie) Date: 2012-05-08 00:19 Message: I am sorry about the problem you reported. Unfortunately, I don't speak or read Korean. Is this problem still present in 1.4.13? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=650539&aid=3002133&group_id=108454 |
