The following forum message was posted by chloros at http://sourceforge.net/projects/scim/forums/forum/372604/topic/3795795: Well, the fact this character is a Chinese variant was obvious, given that a pinyin code was provided in its description. I also found it in Charmap, typing 直 then switching to a font called “unBatang”. But I need to write it in an UTF8-encoded text file, using Nano\'s default font, Monospace. In these situations all I can do is copy-paste it. I hardly see myself telling my team ‘sorry guys, you\'ll have to switch from Monospace to unBatang for this one character’. The fact those two have the same Unicode means I have no choice but doing it, thought. Unless I upgrade to the current version of Ubuntu, which I can\'t for the moment being. At least I know what is the point. Thank you juhp :) . |
