SCIM does not work to input Chinese characters for Firefox or Thunderbird after 3.x. Pressing Ctrl+Space does nothing.

Adjusting the patch to scim-bridge from the SUSE bug at [1], we were able to create a patch for scim in Gentoo [2] that corrects the problem. Please consider incorporating this patch. Thanks!
