It's great that you think in that way :) It's great to have new developers in the team, we'd love you to join us. > We have the idea to program general plugins so it could be very easy to insert > them in the code. The idea is to use "gsl" the gnu scientific libraries for > most things. They are powerful and with open source code. Most of things to be > implemented are done in this libraries. We don't have a clear idea about how we are going to implement the numeric stuff. In the beggining I thought about GSL, but they are HUGE! and they include a lot of not needed features (IMHO). I may happen that all what we need is already in Numerical Python. The only thing they may not have, is a non-linear fitting algorithm, but we need to investigate a little bit. What I have in mind for the non-linear/custom fittings is something similar to Origin: and iterative algorithm, and an interactive dialog. A plugin system is an interesting idea, can you be more specific and tell us what you have in mind? How would you implement it? BTW, I am forwarding this message to the SG list, in a way that all the subscribers can debate and contribute with new ideas. It's also good to have a consensus with the other developers (Conrad). I suggest you to subscribe if you are planning to be part of the project. And let me say: Bienvenidos!
