First Milestone (or OHMYGOD It Moves!)

PHASE ONE COMPLETE

I'm incredibly pleased to announce that we completed our spring goal early and managed to get our sprites rendering to the screen! While this may not seem particularly substantial, it does mean that we've progressed to the point that our first wave of game logic compiles and our image handling classes are in proper shape. Our next steps, of course, are to get these images moving properly, but what we have so far has everyone excited for more. We're also finally adding some real sprites made by one of our VERY artistically talented team members. The rest of us were thrilled to discover this and have had her hard at work producing creative content. She's practically flooded our commit logs with new content and its only getting better.... read more

Where are we going? (or C++ for Newbies)

Obligatory polite greetings and other mumbo-jumbo...

As you may have guessed, I am not one for formalities. I am, however, very excited to be finally putting a project together with my fantastic team of developers. Our goal is simple: get ourselves in over our heads just far enough to maybe learn something as we dig our way out. For some of us, this is all too easy; in fact, our skill levels are about as diverse as our interests. With the last few weeks' progress, we've discovered that between our educated members and our learners, we can really make something great.... read more
