#206 When a ChessBase database cbh file is opened in Scidb, some games are stripped from their annotations, some aren't

I have the Rossolimo-Moscow 2020 powerbase from ChessBase, that I use in ChessBase2015 (see the "ORIG_FILES_FROM_CHESSBASE" folder from the zipped folder in attachment). It contains games , some of them having annotations. Let's take two games that have annotations :

1. Vachier-Lagrave vs Carlsen, Sinquefield Cup 7h, Saint Louis, 28/08/2019
2. Morozevich vs Carlsen, Biel, 31/7/2006

When I open the database in Scidb, the first game has been stripped from its annotations (variations are still there) and the second has still its english annotations (and variations). (Variations are never the problem here, only text annotations are.)

I tried to understand the differences between the two games, initially without success. as I used Scidb to convert ChessBase database to a Scid vs. Pc (as well as Scid on the go on android) compatible format, I remarked that, in the converted database (see the "CONVERTED_FILES" folder from the zipped folder in attachment) (when I open the sg4 file among sg4, si4 and sn4), the first game has only variations whereas the second has variations and annotations in english and in german as well, distinguished by <en> and <de>.

This bug is a really annying because the annotations (when good) are often way more profitable for club players than only variations, so that it would be perfect to have all annotations treated right.

Wow, it must be difficult for a developer not to have a working computer at

This is indeed a strange behavior, and I agree that this is a bug with high priority. Unfortunately I don't have a working computer, and in these difficult Corona times I cannot buy hardware. So I will work on this problem later.
