Importing "only worksheets" for getting data from other graphing software. SigmaPlot, Origin and Kaleidagraph are used by many scientist. Therefore, these softwares can be a good start.

This seems to be one of the most-missed features; particularly import from Origin. => increasing priority

At the same time, it touches many parts of the application, so it is one of the more work-intensive feature requests in terms of implementation and maintenance. Help (particularly from users of these other tools) would be welcome (to anyone reading this: please reply here or on scidavis-contributors if you're interested).

    Hi everyone!
I have been a user of SigmaPlot since the very start (around 1993) and feel that your terrific software is really a great substitute. I have recently been moving over to Mac OS X and this has been main driver to learn how to use the SciDAVis software in my research. I know it may be very tricky but if it would be possible to import or actually open .SPW or .JNB files it would probably attract many users (with my background). I should tell you that I still use one of the oldest SigmaPlot versions (version 2) which I find to solve all my requirements (including submission to peer-reviewed journals).
    Best regards//Lennart

    Hi people
Can you tell at what point of development is that graphing software import project ?
Now that Macos will stop running 32 bits apps like Kaleidagraph, Macos scientist Kaleidagraph users will search other apps, some could switch to SciDaVis.

I'm not aware of anyone working on this.

I'm sorry for posting again in a so old ticket, but I was asking myself if there is any real plan to also include the .opju format (Origin standard since 2018) in the import/open menu

As SciDAVis maintainer, I can say I'm not aware of any. That said,
SciDAVis depends on liborigin for its Origin support, so that question
is perhaps better posed towards the maintainer of liborigin (Miguel,
IIUC). He may well respond to this ticket too.

Thanks for the answer. I may write a request on his project if he will not reply shortly then.
Connected to previous, I got an error when trying to import a project (.opj) in SciDavis: basic_string::substr: __pos (which is 5) > this->size() (which is 2).
Is it perhaps due to the fact that the origin sheet has 5 column while scidavis ones start with only 2?

    See liborigin-devel mail list.

As for the error when importing a .opj file, you can try if opj2dat from liborigin can read that file. If not, post a message to liborigin-devel attaching the problematic file.
