Ok, I think I understood what is going on here. I tracked corrections for "Barta, J" that is mapped to "Barta, Joszef" in my spellcheck file. This player is born in 1972, and Scid finds "Barta, J" in the base and proposes to convert it to "Barta, Joszef". But the relevant games are played in the 1930s, so Scid does not do the changes (which is quite normal). And the next time the spellcheck is run, Scid only looks at names (not dates coherency), and will propose again to convert "Barta, J" to "Barta, Joszef". This is why some names are proposed for corrections that are not commited due to coherency checks made later in the process. Pascal 2008/4/24 J. I click on "correct" and in a minute there is a message box > saying 1999 records corrected. I run spellcheck again and I get a > somewhat smaller number but the players shown are the same except for > the last 197.
