I asume, you use tlc/tk9, but the package "snack" is not loaded. Check this in Menu "Help" -> "About Scid". If there is "snack(2.2)" not listed, then you have no sound.
The error should be catched, but nevertheless you would not have a sound, even you select a directory with the sound files.

Hi Uwe, you're right. I'm using tlc/tk 8.6.18 and there is no "snack" listed (whatever it is ;-)).
I found a snack zip file (2.2.11) on github. Shall I unzip it to the SCID directory or do I have to install it somehow? Thanks for your promt reply!

Ok, I've copied the snack files to the lib directory and there is no error message anymore.
Is it somewhere discribed have to use/activate the sound? Well, I'll look into the manual, maybe there is something... Anyway thanks!

Ok, now I understand a bit more. For the latest SCID version with tlc/tk9 I'll need snack 2.2.12 or higher (if available), otherwise snack won't be loaded and there is no sound. Is there a workaround? e.g. downgrade only tlc/tk to tlc/tk 8.6.18? I'm on Windows.
