I am pretty sure once there was option to insert null move. In help it is indeed instruction for it. Neither by mouse nor by keyboard I find it possible.
Neither I found in preferences or file menu or other tabs a way to define keyboard shortkeys.
By pressing the expected key, e.g. B for bishop, works only for bottom player. You need to rotate board to enter move for opponent. When it works, a "Enter Move" box appears at the bottom of board but one needs to continue by keyboard, because a click on it by mouse gives

wrong # args: should be "after idle script ?script ...?"

error message.
Main problem though is the inability to enter null move. The setup board workarround, in order to alter the moving player, is at least unproductive.
Thank you.

Well, help instructions says "...can be inserted using the mouse by making an illegal move of capturing one king with the other".
I had tried illegal moves but not king over king.
    This last one really works.
May be the change of "...an illegal move of..." to "...the illegal move of..." would be more consistent.
The two minus keystrokes "--" do not work, may be because my laptop does not have separate numerical panel.

This ticket might be closed, unless anyone would like to check the secondary minor error message that is reported.
    Thank you

The help text can be easily updated. Though it also states you can insert a null move by typing -- which doesn't work. Is this the correct behaviour? Should the corresponding text be removed from the docs or should the feature be resurrected?

I for one am in the favour of getting -- to work.

Here's the merge request that fixes the docs and also brings back null moves via keyboard: https://sourceforge.net/p/scid/code/merge-requests/16/
