Have just installed Scan, and it seems great.
Text files import, but PDFs don't.
Have tried both versions of the plugin, but nothing happens
"No documents found in the location!"
But the documents are there.
OS - Win 7
Thank you.

Please check the errors and warnings in SCAN console window (small button in bottom right corner of the screen). Perhaps it contains some clues why your files are not indexed.
Further, checking the log output may help to identify the problem. To be able to see that, run "scan.bat" in the system DOS shell. Alternatively, it's possible to direct the output to a log file, see http://scan.sourceforge.net/?page_id=20#faq_37
Please note that not all PDF files are supported. For instance, if a file has no parseable text (e.g. the image scans only), it'll be skipped. Encryption (as well as some exotic charsets, I believe) also might cause PDF parsing errors.

I am not a programmer, so please forgive any ignorance.
Uninstalled the current version and installed scan-1.4-beta1.exe.
Some plugins seem preinstalled, and PDF import worked.
However, installation of the other plugins, through the plugin manager, as with the current version, doesn't work -
"Error installing plugin: C:\Users\*****\AppData\Local\Temp\scan-download507978573140508060plugins\scan-web-plugin-1.0-20080725\LICENSE (The system cannot find the path specified)".
There is no 'LICENSE' file at the specified location.
The zip files appear as 'File' only, not '.zip' files.
The 'LICENSE' files are within these generic 'files', but do not appear 'separately', you can't click through to them.
On Windows 7(Vista), plugins management may not work as expected, due to additional filesystem security (file permissions) introduced in those versions.
Yes, manual install is the workaround.

Thank you for your reply, Alexeya.
It seems that the position of 'collections' in the list is fixed, their order cannot be changed.
There doesn't seem to be a logic to the order (alphabetic, time of entry, etc), either.
Can they not be changed?

Updating doesn't work either -
"Error fetching updates!

Manual install of the plugins does work, and everything seems good.
So, it's working, except for the plugin manager, but the manual install is a 'workaround'.
