Category: sfcb Group: Function Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: Michael Chase-Salerno (mchasal) Assigned to: Chris Buccella (buccella) Summary: sfcbrepos and -t Initial Comment: When the classProviderSf was made the default, the -t flag is needed when building a repository. It will be automatically added unless the -f flag is given. Since sfcb postinstall, and cmpi-base call it with the -f, they are creating an unusable repo. A couple of options: -Have -f automatically add -t when needed and add additional flag for "really force" -Extend -t to include a parameter for repo type, default is "auto" but can be overriden to be tiny/normal -add a anti -t flag to allow reversal of the automatic addition of -t ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Michael Chase-Salerno (mchasal) Date: 2012-11-29 11:07 Message: Yes, sorry I wasn't clear in all 3 options, -f would default to doing the autodetection I like the 2nd option as well, it is also extensible if we end up with more repo types in the future, so I would go with the tiny/normal/auto option. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Dave Heller (hellerda) Date: 2012-11-29 11:02 Message: Since the behavior of the -f is really more like a -y (don't ask me if I'm sure) than it is a "force", I suggest letting the -f do the autodetect, which is normally what the user would want (seeing how they did not want to be asked). Since the -t is the new kid on the block, I like suggestion 2 above. It could be: -t yes/no/auto, where the default is auto. Or it could be: -t tiny/normal/auto, and designate -t as representing "type", which conveniently starts with 't' also. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=712784&aid=3591102&group_id=128809 |
