Dear all, Registration is now open for HARMONY 2023! Date: 24-27 April 2023 Place: Seattle, WA, USA Meeting Website: https://co.mbine.org/events/ The Computational Modeling in Biology Network (COMBINE) is an initiative to coordinate the development of the various community standards and formats in systems biology, synthetic biology and related fields. HARMONY is a codefest-type meeting, with a focus on development of the standards, interoperability and infrastructure. There are generally not many general discussions or oral presentations during HARMONY; instead, the time is devoted to allowing hands-on hacking and interaction between people focused on practical development of software and standards. HARMONY 2023 is going to be organized primarily as an in-person event with individual breakout sessions responsible for enabling remote participation as needed. Most of each day will be scheduled by the communities as breakouts, with lightning talks scheduled on the first day. Posters will be displayed for the duration of the meeting. In addition, we will have some time each day for community discussion and wrap-ups of breakouts and advertisements for following breakouts. Important Dates: Breakout submission deadline: April 2, 2023 (for initial scheduling, and then ongoing) Lightning talk and poster submission deadline: April 2, 2023 Notification of acceptance of breakouts/talks/posters: April 7, 2023 More information and abstract submission is available https://co.mbine.org/events/. Kind regards COMBINE Coordinators |

Dear Colleague, The Computational Modeling in Biology Network (COMBINE) is an initiative to coordinate the development of the various community standards and formats, initially in Systems Biology and related fields. The Annual COMBINE forum is a workshop-style event with oral presentations, posters and breakout sessions. The meeting provides an opportunity for those involved in many related standardization and software efforts in systems biology to meet and discuss their efforts, with the aim of working more closely together to ensure smooth interoperability between systems. http://co.mbine.org/events/COMBINE_2012 COMBINE 2012 will take place at The Donnelly Centre building at the University of Toronto from Wednesday August 15 to Sunday Aug. 19, 2012, immediately preceding the 13th International Conference on Systems Biology (http://icsb2012toronto.com/). The COMBINE conference location is a short walk from ICSB events and COMBINE 2012 is an official satellite meeting of ICSB, so you can follow the same travel and accommodation instructions for ICSB and use the same hotel discounts. Registration for COMBINE is $125 (Canadian) to cover costs associated with the meeting, including a workshop dinner and catering. We hope to see you there! -- Nicolas LE NOVERE, Computational Systems Neurobiology, EMBL-EBI, WTGC, Hinxton CB101SD UK, Mob:+447833147074, Tel:+441223494521 Fax:468, le...@eb..., Skype:n.lenovere, twitter:@lenovere http://www.ebi.ac.uk/~lenov/, http://www.ebi.ac.uk/compneur/ _______________________________________________ Combine-announce mailing list Com...@eb... http://listserver.ebi.ac.uk/mailman/listinfo/combine-announce |

Dear potential COMBINE attendees, We recently ran a survey to identify the best dates to hold COMBINE 2012. Based on the votes received, the following is the winning combination: Wednesday August 15 (all day) to Sunday Aug. 19 (morning half-day), 2012 As the attached table shows, this combination of dates was voted both (a) good/best by the most people and (b) "impossible" by the fewest people. We thank all of the people who took the time to fill out the date survey, and we hope to see everyone in Toronto, Canada, at COMBINE 2012 and ICSB 2012! Best regards, Mike, Gary, Nicolas |

Dear Colleagues, Some of you may not have attended the last day of COMBINE2011, and may not be aware of new means of communication for this community. We set-up three mailing lists: To receive announcements from COMBINE, subscribe to: com...@mb... This list if very low flux, and members should not normally post on it. (Note that the main list of each of the core COMBINE standards is already subscriber, which is why you receive this message). To discuss the goals, organization and operation of COMBINE, subscribe to: com...@mb.... This list is open to all. To report issues about the co.mbine.org website, send a mail to com...@mb.... You cannot subscribe to this list, but only post message. -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [sbgn-libsbgn] Announcement: Milestone 1! SBGN-ML 1.0, LibSBGN Java 1.0, LibSBGN C++ 1.0 beta Date: Mon, 31 Jan 2011 22:43:22 +0000 From: Alice Villeger <Ali...@ma...> Reply-To: libSBGN Development and Technical Issues <sbg...@li...> To: libSBGN Development and Technical Issues <sbg...@li...> Dear all, As agreed during our January EVO meeting, I am pleased to announce we have now reached Milestone 1! *** SBGN-ML1.0 *** Milestone 1 marks the official release of SBGN-ML1.0 The current version of the exchange format handles the semantics, syntactic relationships, and layout geometry of SBGN PD maps. The core of the specifications is enshrined in the XML schema and its accompanying documentation. Both are available in the release bundle under the following paths: - resources/SBGN.xsd - specifications/sbgn.doc/index.html The whole documentation has also been transcribed on a single wiki page: - http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/libsbgn/index.php?title=Exchange_Format For relevant examples of SBGN-ML files, please consult: - http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/libsbgn/index.php?title=SBGN-ML_Example_Files *** LibSBGN Java 1.0 *** Also part of the release: LibSBGN Java 1.0, the Java implementation of LibSBGN. The current version of the library can read and write SBGN-ML1.0 files, and perform partial validation. For complete instructions on how to install and use this tool, please check: - http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/libsbgn/index.php?title=Developer_tutorial *** LibSBGN C++ 1.0 beta *** Finally, the first public release of LibSBGN C++ can be found in the cpp_binding directory of the release bundle. The library is still in beta. It is reasonably functional: it can read and write SBGN-ML1.0 files, and perform basic validation based on the XSD. However, it hasn't been thoroughly tested yet, and only contains minimal documentation. A more complete version is in preparation. Stay tuned! *** Where to download? *** PLEASE NOTE: As some of you may have noticed, Sourceforge has recently been under attack: http://sourceforge.net/blog/sourceforge-attack-full-report/ The attack has been stopped, but the service is still somewhat disrupted: - the release bundles can't seem to get uploaded properly (the files get corrupted in the process) - the web version of the SVN repository is currently unaccessible (although the repository itself still works) Until things come back to normal, the release files will be listed here: http://sourceforge.net/apps/mediawiki/libsbgn/index.php?title=Main_Page#Download A snapshot of the bundle content can be found in the SVN repository, under tags/milestone1: svn co https://libsbgn.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/libsbgn libsbgn *** Licence *** SBGN-ML 1.0, LibSBGN Java 1.0 and LibSBGN C++ 1.0 beta are released under a dual licence: LGPL2.1 or any later version, and Apache 2.0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Special Offer-- Download ArcSight Logger for FREE (a $49 USD value)! Dear colleagues, The SBGN project has now entered in the maturity phase. While the community of SBGN developers is of course discussing how to extend and improve the notation, there is now a growing community of SBGN users. Those want to be aware of the latest developments and news, but not necessarily follow very technical discussions or participate to votes on particular issues. This is why we created the sbgn-announce mailing list. This list is intended to be a very low flow one, with only posts from the project (i.e. SBGN editorial board and scientific committee). You will not be able to post on it. It will feature announcements for: * Forthcoming meetings * Forthcoming elections (although only sbgn-discuss members can vote) * Forthcoming decision votes (although only sbgn-discuss members can vote) * Noticeable news affecting SBGN user community sbgn-discuss will continue to be used for discussions related to SBGN development. To start with, we subscribed all the members of sbgn-discuss to sbgn-announce. You can now decide if you want to stay on both lists or not.
