I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with MingW.  On their website the
latest I see is 3.6, not 3.7.  Also, do I just grab the tarball and
unpack it somewhere?  Or is there some other update procedure?  I must
have installed my copy of MingW (3.10) some time ago and it also appears in
the "Add or Remove Programs" control panel, so I guess I must have
used some kind of installer at that time - don't remember.
