Overall, it worked pretty well. The installer installed SBCL where I asked it to, and it works fine, from the little testing I gave it. There were two snags in the installation process: 1. I get a warning that the installer "is not commonly downloaded and could harm your computer". I suppose both of those things are perfectly true, and there's not much to do about it, other than to let potential users know that warning is expected. 2. The installer itself is either unsigned or is signed by an unknown certificate. This produced a couple of scary-looking warnings, but that's all. I don't know what's involved in getting a recognized certificate, but that would be an obvious improvement. Otherwise, everything went smoothly. -Thomas Date: Tue, 8 Jan 2013 00:05:16 -0800 From: ell...@gm... To: sbc...@li... Subject: [Sbcl-devel] SBCL 1.1.3 now supports both x86 and x86-64 The Windows build for 1.1.3 is up for both x86 and (newly added) x86-64. Support for 64-bit is one of many improvements slowly trickling over from Anton Kovalenko's windows branch. Since this release also uses the new installer (also from Anton), it would be nice if people would take it out for a spin and see how it does. -- Elliott Slaughter "Don't worry about what anybody else is going to do.
