Hi, I have a fedora 4 image running in vmware. # uname -a Linux i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux I installed sbcl-0.9.17-x86-linux-binary.tar.bz2 on it and didn't run into any problem. I use it for developement everyday. I also install it on two of my coworkers's vmware machine (same fedora 4 image, but they might have installed other tools or libraries) However, when I run it it will hang before I can see the REPL. top shows that its using all the cpu. There are no init files and using --no-sysinit --no-userinit options doesn't make any difference. Also, I cannot kill it with C-\ or C-c. -------------------------------------------------------------- # sbcl This is SBCL 0.9.17, an implementation of ANSI Common Lisp. After a long period of time again I saw the banner but it hangs there again permanently, using most cpu time. Can anyone suggest ways for me to diagnose this problem?
