I've applied the patch and the test outputs the correct codes.

Hmm. I guessed wrong. Really thought make-string-input-stream was
the problem. Maybe I'm too used to the old ways of CHARACTER.
Healthy shock. We'll sure find some more pitfalls.

And too bad nobody (including me) had tested this case before the
release. A little bit embarrasing, because of RUN-PROGRAM being used
in asdf-install. :-}
