The three built-in list types NMTOKENS, IDREFS, and ENTITIES all impose a minumum length of 1. This constraint is not being carried through to user-defined list types derived by restriction from one of these three types.

A patch on the 9.1 branch is being placed in the Saxon-SA Subversion repository. Affects modules UserSimpleType and UserListType.
