I've just looked this up. A user reported failure to retrieve any reads from an indexed .bam file which had a single reference sequence of length 605 Mb. A different .bam file with a reference sequence of length 305 Mb worked fine. This was discussed in emails to the samtools-help mailing list between myself, Rebecca Sun and James Robinson, dated Monday and Tuesday, August 1 and 2, 2011. - tom blackwell - On Sun, 25 Sep 2011, Peter Cock wrote: > On Sun, Sep 25, 2011 at 7:03 PM, Peter Cock <p.j...@go...> wrote: >> >> ... >> >> but the details currently escape me... > > Peter > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > All of the data generated in your IT infrastructure is seriously valuable. > Why?
