Hi Everyone, Just a quick email to keep you all up to date with the latest development in SalStat. I have been chatting with Eric Jones and Travis Oliphant of SciPy (www.scipy.org) and decided to include some new modules with the next release of SalStat - namely Numeric and SciPy. These modules will allow the easy analysis of large datasets by treating them as arrays rather than lists. SciPy also has built in plotting modules which makes creating charts and graphs a lot easier (rather: it makes them possible!). However, they will not be essential to run the program. If a user doesn't have them installed, then the program will continue to run as before but with a more limited functionality. Users who have Numeric will be able to deal with much larger data sets, and the analysis will be much quicker. Users with SciPy installed will have access to all the functions that SciPy has. All the best, Alan. Alan James Salmoni HCI Group School of Psychology Cardiff University Wales, UK |
