Support Different Code Editors?

Sally is a great step towards a RAD IDE, but the
spartan code editor could be improved. Could an
extension interface be implemented that allows one to
use a different program as a code editor for Sally? I
specifically have gVim in mind. Vim is a powerful
editor that has comprehensive, customisable syntax
colouring, keyboard macros, and code completion. It
also features hooks to connect with IDEs, e.g. Eclipse.

Currently it's not in my TODO list.
The editor's already been changed once in the past, and I
think there are other priorities now.
I'm not sure if Vim has a .Net interface anyway (Sally is
developed in C#).
As far as code completion is about, the editor currently
used by Sally has already this feature, but code
completion won't be implemented in Sally because template
C++ code is very diffucult to parse (and expensive from a
memory/speed point of view). (It's much easier to
implement code completion for a .Net language than for
C++, because .Net was designed with Visual Studio 2005 in
mind).
Anyway I could reconsider this request in the future
(after a few "stable" releases): now there are other
priorities.
