Beste Sailcut testers/gebruikers,

Een aantal versies terug vroeg Robert mij of ik de Nederlandse vertaling =
van de Sailcut gebruiksomgeving wilde verzorgen.
Ik heb dit meteen gedaan, omdat ik graag mijn steentje bijdraag aan dit =
fraaie zeilontwerp pakket dat ik zelf gebruik voor het ontwerpen van de =
zeilen voor mijn radiografische modelzeilboten.

Nu met de voorbereidingen rond versie 0.7 een update nodig was zijn mij =
een paar zaken in het oog gesprongen die verbetert kunnen worden.
De meest voor de hand liggende heb ik meteen aangepakt, maar over een =
stukje in de vertaling zou ik graag willen horen hoe de anderen er over =
denken.

Het gaat om de toepassing van het woord "vorm" voor de Engelse termen =
"mould" en "shape".
"Vorm" lijkt mij bij nader inzien niet het meest geschikte woord.
"Profiel" zou beter passen. En als je erover nadenkt is "profiel" =
eigenlijk het beste Nederlandse woord voor "mould", "shape" en =
"profile".
Het lijkt erop dat de Nederlandse taal hier wat armer is dan de Engelse.

Ik zou graag willen weten hoe u hierover denkt.

Dear Sailcut testers/users,

A couple of releases ago Robert asked me if I could do the translations =
for the Dutch user interface of Sailcut.
As a regular user of Sailcut for the design and build of sails for my =
radio controled model yachts, I didn't have to think twice to say yes.

With the preparations for release 0.7 an update to the translation was =
necessary and so a few improvement areas caught my eye.
The obvious ones I took care of immediately, but one piece would require =
some wider consent before I'd go ahead with it.

It concerns the use of the Dutch word "vorm" for the English "mould" and =
"shape".
On second thought "vorm" does not sound the right word.
"Profiel" would fit better and once you think of it, it really is the =
best Dutch word for "mould", "shape" and "profile" in Sailcut.
It would appear that the Dutch language is less rich that the English, =
in this respect.

For those who appreciate the Dutch language I would be interested to =
learn their ideas in this.
