Hello List, I have been working on trying to get Sahana installed on our Red Hat server. I have followed the instructions as closely as possible, but have run into some problems. I am new to Sahana in general. Some context: Our webserver is apache running with tomcat. Our server did not have mysql installed, so I went and installed that, and it seems to be working. I also checked to make sure we had PhP on the server, which we did. I then first went and got the RPMs for Sahana. I placed the RPMs in the root of the web directory, and installed them, but didn't see any file come out into the root directory (should they have?). I then went and got the source tar files from source forge, and extracted them into the root of the web directory. According to the instructions provided with Sahana, I should have been able to point to <root of web directory>/sahana and have the installer come up, but it didn't. Looking around a little at the files that were extracted from the Sahana source package. I saw a www folder containing an index.php file. when I browsed here, I got what appeared to be the installer page, now at: http://www.experimental.geovista.psu.edu/sahana/www/index.php and saw the dependency problems If I am interpreting this correctly, according to our PhP info page: http://www.experimental.geovista.psu.edu/phpinfo.php we have have the GD library (--with-gd=shared ) and the MySQL library('--with-mysql=shared) so I am unclear why the Sahana installation page says we don't have these (of course, I could be missing something..) Also, for the file directory permissions, are these folders relative to the Sahana install root? If so, I checked the folder www/tmp/ and the permissions are set to writable, any particular user they have to be writable for? Any information/direction on how to overcome these issues would be appreciated, as I would like to get this moving along. Please let me know what other information from my end you may require to help troubleshoot this. Thank you for your time Brian Tomaszewski |
