Broken file icons, solid background where should be transparent

File icons show up as a blank file icon instead of the actual file icon. That's an issue.
Even worse, any photo type that contains transparency is displayed on a white background, which totally makes it useless. Especially when the image is already entirely white. Then you can't see anything but a white box.
Here's an example, the top being right, the bottom being wrong:
It's not a white it's a special widely used chess background (white-gray) to show a transparency exactly. When you see this you know this is a transparency.
