I use to write text based RPGs for the TI calculator
years ago and one feature that people always found the
most useful was the ability to bargain with a shop
keeper. The program would figure out a random
percentage that the shop keeper would come down from
the normal price and then let the shopper name a
price. If the named price was highter than the lowest
the shop keeper would go, the item was sold. Usualy I
would base the percentage that the shop keeper would
come down off the original price from the charisma of
the character. This not only lets the player take a
bit more of a control over things, but make the game
more challenging and realistic.

I agree on this too, it's fun. Then we might consider
adding a bargain skill, and the higher the skill, the lower
the shopkeeper would go or something. The skill would go up
by n everytime you name a price pretty close to the lowest
price, and if you manage to name *the* lowest price, then
it would go up faster. Just my humble opinion of course.

Bargaining sounds very good, I liked that in Angband
although I turned it off after a while.

I like the skill idea too. Make a task of it and add it to
the tasks (under skills I guess) Spara or Tribaal? And as
generally in Sagaj, whoever implements it gets to decide how
    it works:)
