#4 Launch applications

It would prove very useful if buttons could be
configured to launc applications and open directories.
Also, a key configuration based on optional window
focus (IF windows.Focus=mplayerc.exe use mpc.config)
would be great!

I second this. I don't want to have a billion app shortcuts with shortcut keys assigned to them on my desktop or in my start menu, just to start an app!

Sorry to post this here but this project looks pretty inactive...

If you want to launch and application from a remote button you might want to give Intelliremote a try at http://www.intelliremote.com

You can assign a keyboard action, mouse action, run an application, run a Windows script from any remote button you want and create profiles so you can change your remote behavior based on what application is active like ITunes or Winamp etc. So if you want your remote Next button to do one thing in ITunes but something completely different in Winamp or Windows Media Center you can!
