You should improve your cdrom letter detection using this line instead the one you're actually using...

for /f "delims=: tokens=1" %%i in ("%~dp0") do set cdrom=%%i:

way faster since it doesn't seek on all drives before getting the right one and even better since it can't find another drive which could contain another XP CD in it...
