OS: Windows XP SP2
Rufus v0.6.9
One day Rufus is working fine but then after shutting
down and starting up the next day Rufus trys to open
but pops up with a 'rufux.exe has encountered a
problem...' and it keeps doing it if you try and open
it again
I don't know of this of any help but here is the 'Error
signature' that Windows gave:
AppName: rufus.exe AppVer: 0.0.0.0 ModName:
wxmsw26uh_vc.dll
ModVer: 2.6.1.0 Offset: 000c2124
And I have attached the 'full technical information
error report' generated by windows '7712_appcompat.txt'.
Here is the contentes of the rufus.exe.log file:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "rufus.py", line 2013, in run
File "rufus.py", line 1993, in __init__
File "wx\_core.pyo", line 7473, in __init__
File "wx\_core.pyo", line 7125, in _BootstrapApp
File "rufus.py", line 1998, in OnInit
File "rufus.py", line 158, in __init__
File "friend.pyo", line 204, in Load
NameError: global name 'CreatePeerId' is not defined
this statment is repeated twice.
It will keep crashing, reinstalling rufus over the top
won't fix it the only way I found was to uninstall and
reinstall it again.

A month and a half later and it has done it again exactly
the same messages as before.

This happened to me as well. I updated to v0.7.0 beta, and
it's working fine. I think that just reinstalling v0.6.9
would have also worked, but I didn't try it.
