The incoming signal is really poor. When iwconfig is executed the information showed is:

wlan0 802.11b/g linked ESSID:"AnyID"
Mode:Managed Channel=6 Access Point: 00:1E:EE:56:4F:AB
Bit Rate=54 Mb/s
Retry:on Fragment thr:off
Link Quality:0 Signal level:0 Noise level:0
Rx invalid nwid:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

lsusb output:
Bus 003 Device 003: ID 0bda:8189 Realtek Semiconductor Corp.

The information of iwconfig is always showed, the link quality, signal level and noise level are in 0 independently my distance to router. Over Windows, the signal is really good.

I need help with this issue.

Sebastián

There's a launchpad bug listed for this issue. It's an ongoing issue, and it's been present since (at least) 12/1/2008.

There is some discussion and some investigation, but I think it might need to rolldown to you guys for a fix. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/293946
